Trail Rides

  • We offer 1 hour, 1 1/2 hour, 2 hour,  and half day long trail rides through the Nantahala National Forest in Hayesville, NC.  Our group sizes are small and many of our rides we trailer the horses to different locations so we have many areas and trail options available. All rides are guided with one of our friendly and knowledgeable trail guides.  Before each ride begins, the guide will perform a safety demonstration that will show how our horses are trained and give everyone an idea of what to expect on the ride.  We have several different options for trails depending on experience level and scenery.  We can accommodate all experience levels from the very inexperienced rider all the way to the most experienced riders.  We have something for everyone!  We love for kids to ride as well, so just ask about ages when you are making your reservations.
  • Please note that we are in the process of exploring some new trail options as well as what we have listed here. We are happy that we have so many people that repeatedly ride with us, that we wanted to offer some new and different trail options for everyone so there’s always something new to see. Ask about our new trails when you make your reservation!
  • All trails are weather permitting.  Some trails may be temporarily unavailable due to weather or trail conditions.

Half Day Rides

We have many different options for our longer rides.  All of the half day/full day trips do have high elevation views (some are better than others depending on the season) that wander through the Nantahala National Forest.  There are options for more adventurous trails and easier trails with minimal obstacles.  Some general features of the different rides are mountain lakes, creek and river crossings, narrow trails that meander through the forest, ample opportunity for wildlife sightings.

All of these rides we trailer the horses to more remote portions of the National Forest, so plan on an additional 1-2 hours.  Cost for trip is $250 per rider.

Other Riding Options:
We can customize your riding experience with private rides, all day rides, overnight trips, and lunch/dinner rides.  For those that have groups, such as Scouts, that would like to learn more about horses, we offer information sessions as well that can cater to what your group would like to learn.
